The Wadsworth Center’s Laboratory Information Management System (CLIMS) is in the process of being re-written in a newer, ITS-supported framework. HBITS staff are sought to augment in-house resources.
Participate in the design and development of modules supporting CLIMS workflows in the CLIMS applications.
Day to day tasks will include, but are not limited to implementing requirements by designing, coding, and testing new features. Also, this assignment includes user interface development utilizing Java with database access through the Java Persistence API (JPA). Develop unit tests using JUnit.

Java WebSphere SOA Developer (05010)

Job Description: 
This individual will be expected to provide expertise and hands-on participation in the following activities:

• Understand and implement Integrated Justice Portal standards related to application technologies, including UI standards, development methodology, and coding and style guides.
• Act as the primary technical liaison with technical infrastructure teams to resolve problems and implement solutions to technical issues impacting application performance.
• Work with the Infrastructure team to execute activities such as performance test planning and execution failure failover planning and execution, endurance testing and deployment planning and testing.
• Provide the analysis, design development, and code review enterprise applications using JAVA/JEE, JSF, XML, XSLT and the IBM Portal/WebSphere Application development software.
• Perform oversight of development activities which may include data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, preparing logical database models, testing and implementation.
• Prepare, and/or review technical documentation such as designs, schemas, etc, as appropriate.
• Provide technical leadership to team of developers.
1. Minimum 84 months experience developing and implementing highly available and scalable multitier applications using Object Oriented or Service Oriented Architecture involving data structures, algorithms, and JEE Design Patterns. #of months  
2. Minimum 24 months hands-on experience developing and deploying applications in WebSphere Application servers 6.1 or higher. #of months  
3. Minimum 24 months experience architecting systems related to criminal justice processing (including but not limited to: disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history updating, Sex Offender management, tracking of Wanted/Missing persons, or initiatives related to Offender Supervision). #of months  
4. Minimum 24 months experience creating technical designs used to implement applications deployed on an Integrated Justice Portal. #of months  
5. Minimum 60 months creating technical designs that are implemented with JAVA Development Kit (JDK 1.5 or higher). #of months
