  • Assist the KPHC Director of Infrastructure track and assess new, incoming NAS Isilon workload requests.
  • Ensure each are properly scoped with the relevant business and functional requirements (Applications, hosts, filetypes, capacities, etc.)
  • Assist the KPHC Director in specifying and documenting Isilon infrastructure requirements to Application and OS teams for both incoming new workloads and existing/legacy workloads.
  • Design NAS functionality to meet new business outcomes and provide ongoing documentation for new features and enhancements.
  • As applicable, recommend new and better approaches to solve business problems as it relates to the KPHC NAS solution and supporting subsystems.
  • Assist the current KPHC and IBM NAS Migration team in providing best practice guidance in planning and executing Complex Isilon migrations including those involving:
  • Multiple Source Celerra data movers or Application Servers being consolidated to a single target Isilon cluster.
  • Mixed-mode File systems that may be actively used by both Windows and Unix client hosts with explicit Windows/SMB and Unix/NFS permissions.
  • Work with the existing KP and IBM Project teams in documenting the source and target file system requirements, highlighting the difference in the way that Celerra and Isilon handle Wintel and UNIX Host access and permissions.
  • Assist the KP and IBM teams in presenting the permissions and administration functionality to the impacted KP OS, Application, and Data Security teams to elicit feedback and ensure the proposed target File system meets their required data security requirements.
  • Work with the KP and IBM team to update the existing migration checklists and procedures, with emphasis the specific Isilon permissions handling procedures to be followed before, during and after the migration cutover to minimize user impact.
  • Oversee the Pilot Migration windows to perform the needed permissions changes that meet the documented KP requirements
