Participate as a team member in implementing and maintaining an integrated enterprise system to collect, correlate, and report faults, events, and performance trends from business processes and components.
Specific duties include:
Performance tuning of monitoring products, specifically optimizing database queries from the rule base.
Contribute to customization, configuration, upgrade and further integration of the Enterprise Monitoring and Management system, specifically using IBM/Tivoli core products – Omnibus, Impact
Requirements gathering, analysis, design and implementation of new monitoring solutions for devices, appliances or custom applications in the Fannie Mae environment. Perform acceptance testing with customer, document solution, and deliver training for support team.
Provide Tier 3 support for NetCool production system issues.
Implement upgrades and/or patches to the existing NetCool environment. Registration and evaluation of new products, versions or patches in accordance to company standards and processes. Evaluation and enhancement of Netcool environment with emphasis on more effective and efficient processing, event reduction and process optimization.
Document implementation as per Corporate and project documentation standards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Direct experience with Enterprise monitoring and management technologies:
     Mandatory: IBM/Tivoli Monitoring, NetCool Omnibus, Netcool Impact
     Experience with administration, troubleshooting, upgrading/patching and
     Customization of the tools.
Monitored environments: Solaris, SuSe Linux, Microsoft NT, Novell, VMWare, JBOSS, Oracle12C, LDAP, DNS, Web firewalls, load balancers, global load balancers
Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP and SNMP Management Protocols
Minimum 5 years of experience as a systems engineer, integrator, and implementer
Strong technical leadership skills. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and persistence. Ability to understand strategic direction and target architecture. Ability to understand cross-platform distribution/migration processes, and to document, develop and implement more efficient and reliable procedures.
High level of interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills.
