  • The Web Content Writer/Developer conceives and develops written and graphical content for website to provide information on products and services or entertainment to site visitors.
Complete Description:
  • The Web Content Writer/Developer will be responsible for writing new content, updating current content and executing that written content to government websites and mobile applications using HTML and Drupal content management software.
  • The Web Content Writer/Developer will research, draft, edit and publish informational material about government services on websites, on Google My Business, and through GovDelivery Communications Cloud for consumption by the public. They will also be responsible for developing reports on the reach of the various communications and engagements.
  • The right candidate for this role must be a strong plain language writer with experience writing and executing the written web content in a Drupal environment. Any experience writing for a voice skill (such as Amazon Alexa, Google Home, etc) would be a huge plus for this position.
  • Selected candidate will also be responsible for conducting webinars to train other agencies on how to use GovDelivery or Google My Business.  Candidate should have experience conducting webinars or communicating through tools like Google Meet.
  • Candidates must have excellent writing and editing skills, with an understanding of the special requirements of writing for the Web, such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigation and the importance of brevity. Candidates must have experience developing accessible web content following Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WGAC) and should have a strong understanding of Federal accessibility requirements (Section 508 Compliance) as well.
  • Candidates must have a good eye for detail, with excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. Must have strong teamwork skills to work in support of and in cooperation with all agencies.  
  • Candidates selected for interview will be expected to provide samples of their web content writing/development work.
